Actually, no, it's not, but we consider her to be the Megan Foxequivalent to the porn industry. Her name is Sasha Grey, and we think she is much prettier than your average porn star. At least her boobs look the normal size for a girl like her.

Sasha attended the Sex, Drinks & Rock 'n' Roll Freedomfest in West Hollywood on Wednesday night which benefited the Free Speech Coalition. Because porn stars want to be able to say what they want in and out of the filmed orgies.

Since Director Lee Demarbre’s H.G. Lewis love letter SMASH CUT recently splashed across screens at FANTASIA in Montreal, I figured I’d run a recent interview I did with porn legend Sasha Grey, who stars in the film.

Grey is gorgeous and – as evidenced in Steven Soderbergh’s recent drama THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE – ultra talented, gifted with acting chops as well as a dynamic physical presence. She’s well on her way to a career that doesn’t exclusively involve engaging in pummelling carnal knowledge….though anyone even casually aware of her trademark talents might mourn the loss of that.

Anyway, here we go…the lovely Sasha Grey.  Chris Alexander: Tell me about your role in SMASH CUT. Sasha Grey: I play April, a TV news personality who goes undercover as an actress in a horror film to discover the killer of her older sister who’s a stripper.

Steven Soderbergh’s latest film, “The Girlfriend Experience,” focuses on a high-price call girl in the posturing, phony, but quite chic upper echelons of New York City during the economic meltdown of October 2008. There is hardly any sex involved. It is more about the economy.

The movie world typically lags behind current events because it takes awhile to raise money and get a film made. “Girlfriend,” playing at the Naro Expanded Cinema in Norfolk through Thursday, surprises us with its talk about the current economic mess.

I found out who Sasha Grey was when Macleans Magazine did an article about her and how she is starring in her first feature film by Stephen Soderbergh called Girlfriend experience. Today while approving reviews I notice that our pal Jay Wigger posted a review for a film called Smash Cut that she starred in.

I did not know who Sasha Grey is but I am sure that the male readers will be interested to know she tried her stab in the horror genre. I never understand why directors feel the need to cast porn stars anymore then when they cast rappers. Whether its Jenna Jameson or Sasha Grey I just dont get it. Read Jay Wiggers review here he gives the film a respectable 7 out of 10 stars.

Steven Soderbergh’s new independent feature ‘The Girlfriend Experience’ is better than most of his films. In fact, I can even hazard this: it reminded me of the Soderbergh of ‘sex, lies and videotape’ fame- an almost lost entity now.

‘The Girlfriend Experience’ shows us days in the life of a high-end prostitute who offers the aforementioned experience, i.e, one that involves not just sex but also emotional intimacy, in the run-up to the Obama-McCain Presidential elections.

She’s a bit like a psychiatrist who will not only listen to your poor pathetic ramblings but also join you on the couch and offer her own opinions on Bulls, Bears and Man on Wire. And as a girlfriend on hire, Chelsea (Sasha Grey) is one of the most sought-after in Manhattan.

Sasha Grey has previously worked in slightly off-mainstream movies and her filmography lists almost 170 movies with titles like Oral Supremacy, Pop Goes the Weasel, In Thru the Back Door, Grand Theft Anal 11, Throat.

Es scheint eigentlich keine wirkliche Frage: Eine junge Amerikanerin kann sich entscheiden, ob sie lieber in Hollywoodfilmen auftreten würde oder in Porno-Produktionen, in denen sie Sex hat, angespuckt wird, gewürgt, und das Sperma von mehreren Männern herunterschluckt. Fast jede würde wohl Hollywood wählen. Dass Sasha Grey sich weigert, genau das zu tun, sagt im Grunde schon alles über diese 21 Jahre alte Frau, die sich seit drei Jahren immer erfolgreicher als Medienfigur vermarktet. Sie ist in hunderten Pornofilmen aufgetreten, hat für American Apparel gemodelt, mit dem Popmusiker Moby gesungen, ist von dem Starfotografen Terry Richardson aufgenommen worden, hat in einem kanadischen Horrorfilm gespielt und war auf dem Cover der Band Smashing Pumpkins zu sehen.

Sasha Grey, star of the new Steven Soderbergh film, The Girlfriend Experience, is described in publicity as an award-winning actress. Nothing unusual there until you examine the fine print and discover not Emmys or Oscars but, among many similar gongs, the 2007 Adult Video News Award for Best Three-Way Sex Scene for a movie called F..k Slaves. Despite her consummate experience in onscreen consummation, Grey's sex scenes in The Girlfriend Experience are clothed and coy.

Exhibit B: Willem Dafoe, one of two leads in Lars von Trier's latest film, Antichrist, is the recipient of multiple acting honours from eminent organisations. Nothing odd about that except that his latest role involves graphic footage of intercourse, ejaculation and his and hers genital mutilation.

Exhibit C: Pirates, reportedly the most expensive film of its kind ever made, stuns reviewers with its swashbuckling plot, smorgasbord of special effects and "superb" computer generated imagery. All well and good except that the film is die-hard pornography and inhabits a genre where production values rarely extend beyond gaffer-taped backdrops and pubic groomers.
